ANAKEM is one of the first Collective Systems for the Alternative Management (CSAM) of Excavation, Construction and Demolition Wastes (ECDW), founded in November 2012.

ANAKEM aims at the contribution to the achievement of the national target concerning the management of ECDW, the compliance with the legislation and the environmental protection.

In 2023 the network of ANAKEM consisted of more than 200 recycling facilities throughout the 13 Regions of Greece, covering the 81% of the country and it has contracted 13,583 public and private works.

During its 11 years operation, it has managed 14,8 million tn of ECDW and returned 7,0 million tn of recycled products, as secondary materials in construction works or for backfilling.

ANAKEM has undertaken the rehabilitation of an inactive municipal quarry in Kozani Western Macedonia in 2023, the rehabilitation of an inactive public quarry in Lasithi Crete in 2022, while since 2021 is involved with the rehabilitation of an inactive public quarry in Koropi Athens.

ANAKEM supports public and private bodies to achieve the prevention, the proper management and the fighting of the illegal ECDW disposal, it organizes public awareness campaigns and participates in research projects for the construction viability and the effective production and use of secondary materials.

ANAKEM implements a wide corporate social responsibility program and carries out pilot demonstrative actions of illegally disposed ECDW management, focusing at protected and burdened areas
