The AUTONOMOUS CIVIL PROTECTION DEPARTMENT OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ZAKYNTHOS is responsible for planning, preventing and responding to risks (fires, floods, earthquakes) in the region. It informs citizens about self-protection measures, cleans up plots and manages emergencies.
Responsibilities and actions:
- Fire Prevention Season: Promoting messages and instructions for forest fire prevention.
- Land Cleaning: Update and manage land cleaning declaration platform.
- Emergency Plans: Development and implementation of plans for protection against natural disasters.
- Information: Issuance of announcements about risks and safety instructions.
For emergencies, citizens are invited to contact the corresponding emergency services (Fire Department 199, Police 100) or the Civil Protection line.
