The MUNICIPALITY OF SARONIKOS is a municipality in the Attica Region established under the Kallikratis Program. The municipality was formed by merging the municipalities of Kalyvia Thorikou and Anavyssos, along with the communities of Kouvara, Palaias Fokaias, and Saronidas. The new municipality covers an area of 133.43 square kilometers and has a population of 30,047 residents. Kalyvia Thorikou has been designated as the administrative center, and Dimitrios Papachristou has been serving as the mayor (2024–present).
One of the most historic and beautiful municipalities in the land of Attica, Saronikos combines a rich history and vibrant culture with breathtaking natural scenery, where rocky mountains give way to fertile plains and
intricately patterned shores.
A core principle of the current municipal administration, in light of contemporary demands, is to shape the everyday lives of its citizens through best practices, experience, expertise, and innovative scientific
methods focused on raising awareness, ensuring proper information, and safeguarding the environment.
