Robotic Environmental Solution (ROBENSO) is a company based in Heraklion Crete that develops recycling systems based on robotic and artificial intelligence technologies.
Leveraging extensive industrial research activities, ROBENSO provides state-of-the-art robotic systems that achieve particularly high productivity in recyclable material recovery. We are manufacturers of hardware and software.

ROBENSO robots work 24/7 in particularly difficult conditions, unhealthy for humans, to recognize, categorize and separate post-consumer recyclables with 99% accuracy. The solution provided by ROBENSO can be easily installed in Material Recovery Facilities to tirelessly recover materials from urban waste streams.

ROBENSO robots exploit modern computer vision based on deep learning technology, to recognize and categorize recyclables. Alternatively to computer vision, we provide the option of using hyperspectral cameras that allow immediate and accurate identification of the material types of recyclables. The output of material recognition and categorization is forwarded to a fast-moving Delta robot that is featured with a vacuum end- effector used to pick and hold the requested materials while transferred to material-specific bins.

ROBENSO technology is at the core of the circular economy and is expected to have a vital role in achieving the goals targeted by the European Green Deal. Given the huge demand for automated waste management, our R&D department is constantly investigating alternative approaches to implement and commercialize new low-cost, high-productivity solutions on fully automated material recovery.
