The REGENESIS Trash Art Project is an art exhibition showcasing creations made from recyclable materials. It is an artistic, environmental, volunteer, and educational program initiated by the visual artist specializing in recyclable materials, Mr. Stelios Tandouris, with the goal of promoting and spotlighting the Trash Art scene in Greece.
The project’s core pillars are art, volunteerism, and the environment. The philosophical theory of the rebirth of beings allegorically intersects with the lifecycle of materials that have reached the end of their life after fulfilling their primary purpose of construction and existence—often ending up discarded in the environment.
At this point, the participating REGENESIS artists step in, using their imagination and inspiration to transform these objects by reassembling their matter, giving them new life and a renewed purpose as works of art. Through these creations, the artists collectively aim to awaken and sensitize both art enthusiasts and the general public to the concepts of volunteerism, recycling, material reuse, and nature conservation— fostering environmental ethics and morality.
Both established and emerging artists participate voluntarily with works from all forms of visual arts, selected based on the theme of the piece and the materials used in its creation
