The MUNICIPALITY OF NIKAIA – AGIOS IOANNIS RENTI is a first-tier Local Government Organization, formed in 2010 through the merger of the Municipality of Nikaia (established in 1933) and the Municipality of Agios Ioannis Renti (established in 1925). It falls under the Region of Attica / Piraeus Regional Unit.

The Municipality has a population of 103,488 residents (Government Gazette, B/4821/01-08-2023). The organization and local responsibilities for Civil Protection have been assigned to the Municipality’s Autonomous Civil Protection Department.

The Mayor of Nikaia–Agios Ioannis Renti is Mr. Konstantinos M. Maragakis, and the Deputy Mayor for Civil Protection is Mr. Ilias Vakalakis.
