ECOELASTIKA SA is responsible for the ecological management of endoflife tires (ELTs) in Greece and constitutes the sole Collective Alternative Management System for ELTs in the country, approved by the Hellenic Recycling Organization (HRA).
ECOELASTIKA organizes nationwide the collection, transportation and recovery of end-of-life tires through a network of collectors-transporters, certified collection points (tire dealers, vehicle repair shops|ecoelastikaspots) and licensed recovery units, covering the full cost of their management.
Beyond its institutional role in waste management, ECOELASTIKA actively contributes to the transition towards the circular economy by ensuring the effective utilization of end-of-life tires and promoting technically mature and implementable solutions.
Recycled rubber is utilized in a wide range of applications, including road infrastructure projects (rubber-modified asphalt), safety rubber flooring in schools and playgrounds, elastic sports surfaces, anti-vibration mats and urban equipment, industrial applications, as well as construction materials such as thermal and acoustic insulation panels, additives for thermoplastics and elastomers and the production of reclaimed rubber.
By integrating the principles of Sustainability and ESG (Environment, Social, Governance), ECOELASTIKA invests in scientific research and collaborations with institutional bodies, municipalities, regions and businesses, aiming to promote solutions with significant environmental, social and economic benefits.
At the same time, ECOELASTIKA implements Social Responsibility initiatives and educational programs, focusing on safety, awareness and the cultivation of a strong recycling culture, particularly among younger generations. ECOELASTIKA’s participation in Verde.Tec aims to highlight its role as a central hub of knowledge, documentation and applications for the utilization of recycled rubber, actively contributing to the sustainable transition and the circular economy.
