COMO, founded in 1995 and headquartered in Gefyra, Thessaloniki, specializes in the processing and recycling of textile by-products and waste, both post-industrial and post-consumer. Specifically, through its manufacturing activities, the company produces products intended for the mattress industry, furniture manufacturing, and the automotive sector. With its advanced machinery, COMO processes fabrics, duvets, blankets, pillows, and other by-products into fibers, which are then used to produce non-woven felts. The collection of these by-products (raw materials for the company) is carried out in collaboration with licensed waste collection companies, utilizing recycling bins or collecting scraps from the garment industry.
Through continuous investments in modern equipment, specialized personnel and adherence to the principles of the circular economy, COMO produces products that are exported to 34 countries. With an annual recycling capacity of 5,000 tons and an export rate of 90%, the company is a leader in Southeast Europe.
With its new investment, expected to be completed by the end of March, its annual recycling capacity will increase to 7,500 tons. It is worth noting that 95% of the incoming textile waste for processing is utilized/recycled.
The products produced are 100% recyclable and can be reprocessed at the end of their lifecycle, thus contributing significantly to a cleaner environment.
