The ASSOCIATION OF MUNICIPALITIES FOR THE PROTECTION AND RESTORATION OF PENTELIKO MOUNTAIN (SPAP) was founded on February 5, 1992 and today consists of the following 13 Municipalities: Amaroussion, Vrilissia, Galatsi, Dionysos, Kifissia, Lykovrisi-Pefki, Marathon, Pallini, Penteli, Rafina-Pikermi, Spata-Artemis, Halandri, Oropos.

Its purpose is to protect, restore and “green” Mount Penteliko, to create a sustainable future for citizens and the new generation. To fulfill its goals, it organizes tree planting and watering activities every year with the participation of citizens and mainly children with the aim of strengthening the environmental sensitivity of mainly children, to love and understand the importance of protecting the mountain.

In the last year and a half, it has purchased 7 new fire trucks, which it has made available to its Member Municipalities, to strengthen the civil protection of the Municipalities in incidents, both during firefighting and during the winter season as these vehicles can be converted into snow plows. It installed 2 new water tanks for filling fire helicopters to strengthen the Fire Service in its work.

The goal of SPAP is to deliver to the new generations a better environment than the current one and will continue this effort by carrying out regeneration actions and strengthening its Member Municipalities with equipment to achieve his goal.
