The «Hellenic Research and Educational Institute “PANOS MYLONAS” for the Road Safety, Prevention and Reduction of Traffic Accidents» – (RSI “PANOS MYLONAS”) – was established on May 12, 2005. The Institute is a not for profit Organization with the aim of preventing and reducing traffic incidents by undertaking, supporting and promoting activities on issues dealing with the study, research and dissemination, information, education and training related to road safety.

RSI “PANOS MYLONAS” has already achieved a considerable contribution to road safety and social matters in Greece as a Non-Governmental Organization under a continuous collaboration with Public Authorities, Academic Institutions and the private sector. The vision of the Hellenic Road Safety Institute PANOS MYLONAS is “a world without road crashes”.

RSI “PANOS MYLONAS” develops Programs of Traffic Education for Primary to Higher Education students, information campaigns and open awareness events for Road Safety issues, in collaboration with Local Government Organizations.

At the same time, the Institute has designed and implements comprehensive Programs of Traffic Education for the executives of private organizations in the context of Occupational Health and Safety.

RSI “PANOS MYLONAS” is represented in the National Council of Road Safety in Greece and is an active member of the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC). RSI is in Consultative Status with the United Nations (ECOSOC), an affiliated member of Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and has been also awarded by the European Parliament with the European Citizen’s Prize, by the Academy of Athens with the Award of Ethical and Political Sciences and by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) with the 3-star Environmental Accreditation.
