VERDE.TEC: LGO “Best Practices” Awards for Environmental Technologies
The 2nd “Verde.tec” international exhibition under the auspices of the Ministry for the Environment & Energy, KEDKE and the Technical Chamber of Greece
Mayors, deputy mayors, members of municipal councils, officials of Local and Regional Governments will be visiting the 2nd “Verde.tec” international exhibition and participating in the “Verde.Tec Forum” conference programme which is to take place between 2 and 4 March 2018 at the Paiania ΜΕC exhibition centre.
The new event, which bears the mark of the prestige of “Technoekdotiki / T-Press”, will also host a special day during which the Minister for the Environment, Mr. Sokratis Famellos, and the Chairman of the Central Association of Greek Municipalities, Mr. Yorgos Patoulis, will hand out the awards for best practices used by LGOs to implement Environmental Technologies and to adapt to circular economy. During the three-day “conference marathon”, the Chairman of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), Mr. Antonis Mavropoulos, is expected to announce a range of new data concerning developments in solid waste in our country, in Europe and even wider.
In the same context, the lecturer of the Chemical Engineering School of the Metsovion National Technical University (NTUA), Ms. Maria Loizidou, is expected to proceed to significant announcements on NTUA research programs and work concerning fighting all types of pollution. In addition to offering its auspices, the Technical Chamber of Greece will also participate through its Chairman, Mr. Yorgos Stasinos, in opening ceremonies and award events for best practices which are to be organized in cooperation with the Ministry for the Environment and the Central Association of Greek Municipalities.
